Synopsis: Civil actions involving LP gas. Conference committee report for ESB 360. Permits
an individual to bring a civil action against a person who misuses a liquified petroleum (LP) gas
container. Permits the recovery of damages, court costs, and attorney's fees. (This conference
committee report removes a provision permitting the civil rights commission to award attorney's
fees to a prevailing complainant in a discrimination action brought before the commission,
removes a provision permitting the award of costs and attorney's fees only to the prevailing party,
and removes the repeal of a provision mandating that 75% of a punitive damages award go to the
state.)
Effective: July 1, 2002.
