Synopsis: Prescription drug advisory committee. Conference committee report for ESB 107.
Extends the expiration date of the prescription drug advisory committee ("committee") to
December 31, 2005. Adds a township trustee as a member of the committee. Extends the date
by which the committee must make prescription drug program design recommendations. (This
conference committee report deletes provisions that: (1) deposit rebates from the Indiana
prescription drug program into the Indiana prescription drug account and allows money in the
account to be used to match federal funds for the program; (2) provide that a prescription is valid
for one year from the date the prescription is filled; (3) require the office of Medicaid policy and
planning to apply for a federal Medicaid waiver to provide prescription drugs to low income
Indiana residents; (4) appropriate $15,516,618 from the Indiana tobacco master settlement
agreement fund to the Indiana prescription drug account; (5) require the office of the secretary
of family and social services to establish and implement a point of sale system for the Indiana
prescription drug program; and (6) extends the expiration date of the committee to December 31,
2005.)
