COMMITTEE REPORT




MR. PRESIDENT:

    The Senate Committee on Education, to which was referred Senate Bill No. 103, has had the same under consideration and begs leave to report the same back to the Senate with the recommendation that said bill be AMENDED as follows:

SOURCE: Page 1, line 3; (02)AM010303.1. -->     Page 1, line 3, delete "JANUARY 1, 2002 (RETROACTIVE)]:" and insert "JULY 1, 2002]:".
    Page 1, line 14, delete "This subsection applies to an amount received by a school".
    Page 1, delete lines 15 through 17.
    Page 2, delete lines 1 through 12.
    Run in page 1, line 14 through page 2, line 13.
    Page 2, strike lines 13 through 19.
    Page 2, delete lines 20 through 21.
    Page 2, line 22, delete "under subsection (b).".
    Page 2, run in lines 19 through 22.
    Page 2, delete lines 24 through 29, begin a new line block indented and insert:
        " (1) staff training, program development, equipment and supply expenditures, or other expenses directly related to the school corporation's academic honors diploma program; and
        (2) the school corporation's program for high ability students.
    (c) The governing body of a school corporation shall submit an annual report to the department of education that summarizes the programs and services provided with the money received under this section. A governing body that does not submit a report under

this subsection is not eligible to receive future awards under this section.".
    Page 2, delete line 30.

and when so amended that said bill do pass .
