SENATE RESOLUTION


     MR. PRESIDENT:

        I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:

    A SENATE RESOLUTION to congratulate Lawrence M. and Mary W. Borst on their 75th Wedding Anniversary.

     Whereas, seventy-five years ago, on March 12, 1927, Lawrence Borst and Mary Waldeck were married;

    Whereas, Mary Waldeck Borst graduated from high school at Woodstock, Ohio and went on to graduate from the Teacher's College of Miami University in Ohio;

    Whereas, Mrs. Borst, an elementary school teacher, taught in the Ohio school districts of North Lewisburg, Woodstock, Columbus, and the Southwest district of Franklin County;

    Whereas, Lawrence Marion Borst graduated from high school at Woodstock, Ohio in 1922 and went on to attend Wittenburg and Miami University of Ohio where he earned his Master of Science degree ;

    Whereas, Mr. Borst, a high school industrial arts teacher

for 42 years, taught at Lima, Galion, and Columbus, Ohio;

    Whereas, Mr. Borst had the distinguished honor of being a member of the national honorary fraternity for industrial arts teachers, Epsilon Phi Tau;

    Whereas, Mr. Borst and Mrs. Borst retired together from teaching in 1967 having both enjoyed long and rewarding careers; and

    Whereas, throughout their full lives together, Lawrence and Mary were sustained by their deep love and devotion for each other and their family: Therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate of the

General Assembly of the State of Indiana:


    SECTION 1. That the Indiana State Senate recognizes and applauds the 75th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence M. Borst.
    SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence M. Borst Sr., Senator Lawrence M. Borst Jr., and family.
