MR. SPEAKER:

    I move that Engrossed Senate Bill 501 be amended to read as follows:

SOURCE: Page 24, line 37; (03)MO050106.24. -->     Page 24, line 37, after "school", insert " that begins its initial operation after June 30, 2004".
    Page 24, between lines 41 and 42, begin a new line block indented and insert:
        " (3) For a charter school that begins its initial operation before July 1, 2004, the weighted average of the indices determined under subdivision (1) for the school corporations in which the charter school's students have legal settlement.".
    Page 27, line 26, delete "the lesser of".
    Page 27, line 27, delete "The statewide average target revenue per ADM" and insert " For a charter school that begins its initial operation before July 1, 2004, the weighted average of the target revenues per ADM determined under subsection (c) for the school corporations in which the charter school's students have legal settlement.".
    Page 27, delete lines 28 through 29.
    Page 27, line 30, after "(2)" insert " For a charter school that begins its initial operation after June 30, 2004, the lesser of the following:
            (A) The statewide average target revenue per ADM determined under subsection (c) for the calendar year for school corporations that are not charter schools.
