Synopsis: Reckless homicide. Increases the penalty for reckless
homicide from a Class C felony to a Class B felony if the killing is the
result of the reckless operation of a vehicle.
Effective: July 1, 2003.

A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning
criminal law and procedure.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
SECTION 1.
IC 35-42-1-5
IS AMENDED TO READ AS
FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2003]: Sec. 5. A person who
recklessly kills another human being commits reckless homicide, a
Class C felony. However, if the killing results from the reckless
operation of a vehicle, the offense is a Class B felony.
SECTION 2. [EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2003]
