  | DIGEST OF INTRODUCED BILL State police and natural resources salary matrix. Requires the state police board and the natural resources commission to create a salary matrix for police employee and enforcement officer salaries within each rank. Specifies that each salary matrix must include 15 increments above the basic salary. Requires the highest salary paid in a rank of a state police department employee to be equivalent to the average of the highest salary paid in an equivalent rank of a police employee in Illinois, Michigan, Kentucky, and Ohio. (Current law requires the salaries for officers of the natural resources department to be equal to the salaries of police employees of the state police department.) Appropriates to the state police department and the department of natural resources an amount sufficient to fund each department's matrix for one year, with 50% to be appropriated from the state general fund and 50% to be appropriated from the motor vehicle highway account. |
