  | DIGEST OF INTRODUCED BILL Reporting of deaths to coroner. Provides that a person who knowingly or intentionally fails to immediately notify the coroner of the discovery of the body of a person who died commits a Class B infraction. (Current law makes it a Class B infraction if a person fails to immediately notify the coroner or a law enforcement agency if the person discovers the body of a person who has died from violence, who has died in an apparently suspicious, unusual, or unnatural manner, or has died at less than three years of age.) Removes the defense of receiving the permission of a law enforcement officer in criminal actions for altering the scene of certain deaths. |
