A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning
education.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:

SECTION 1. IC 20-30-2-9 IS ADDED TO THE INDIANA CODE
AS A
NEW SECTION TO READ AS FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE JULY
1, 2009]:
Sec. 9. (a) This section does not apply to a school that
conducts student instructional days (other than during summer
school) during a school term of twelve (12) consecutive months.
(b) Beginning with the 2010-2011 school year, student
instructional days for a school year may not begin before
September 1.
